Can Your Tire Be Repaired?
Not every flat is a new tire, and not every flat can be saved. Where the damage is decides it.
Usually repairable
- A nail or screw through the main tread area
- A small puncture that's held air long enough for you to get somewhere
- A slow leak where the tire is otherwise in good shape with tread left on it
Not repairable — and we won't pretend otherwise
- Sidewall damage. The sidewall flexes every single rotation. There is no patch that survives that, and a shop that plugs a sidewall is selling you a blowout later.
- Damage in the shoulder, the curved area where the tread turns into the sidewall. Same reason.
- A tire that's been run flat. Driving on a deflated tire chews up the inner liner even if the outside looks fine. We'll show you the inside.
- A tire already down to the wear bars. We can seal the hole, but you'd be paying to repair a tire that's finished anyway.
If your tire falls into the second list, we'll tell you straight and show you what we're looking at. Then we'll get you a replacement — new or used, whatever fits the situation.
How We Repair a Flat
- We take the tire off the wheel. A repair you can trust is done from the inside — you can't properly inspect a tire that's still mounted, and you can't see what the object did to the inner liner.
- We find the damage and check where it sits. Tread area, or shoulder and sidewall. That's the decision point.
- If it's repairable, we repair it properly from the inside and refit it.
- We rebalance the wheel before it goes back on the car, because taking a tire off and putting it back changes the balance.
- Back on the car, checked, and you're gone.

Then you need a tire, and you have more options than you might think.
We sell used tires in any brand, which is often the sensible answer when you need a safe, legal tire on the car today. We sell new tires with a 50,000-mile warranty. And if the flat has exposed that the rest of your tires are near the end too, ask about our wholesale pricing on a set of four — it's usually cheaper per tire than coming back for them one at a time.
